The deadline to apply for the 2023-2024 CSRATA Ann Taylor Scholarship application is midnight, April 15, 2024. Winners will be announced by May 1, 2024. Applications can be submitted by email or mailed to the following address:

Please note that the application must include a completed CSRATA Ann Taylor Scholarship application, letters of recommendation from your tennis team coach, a current official transcript, and an essay on “What Tennis Means to Me.”

On Friday, April 20, 2018, at the Petersburg Racquet Club Banana Open tournament, Ann Taylor was honored for her many contributions to the CSRA tennis community. Among the honors, the CSRATA Scholarship Committee, along with the CSRA Tennis Association Board, renamed the CSRATA Tennis Scholarship as the “ANN TAYLOR SCHOLARSHIP,” beginning with the two scholarships to be awarded this school year.

This scholarship was created in 2014 to award a partial college scholarship to one deserving graduating high school male and one graduating high school female.  The amount each student received has varied from year to year based on fundraising.

To be considered for the award, candidates must currently be on their high school varsity tennis team, have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0, be a resident within the geographic boundaries of the CSRATA and intend to attend any accredited college or university worldwide.

The recipients of this award will be expected to demonstrate an outstanding work ethic on their high school tennis team as well as in the classroom and will be CSRATA “Ambassadors of Tennis” as they move on to their college studies and beyond.

2023 Recipients

For 2023, the awards will be $3,250 for each recipient.

Natalie Cannon graduated from South Aiken High School and will be attending North Greenville University in the fall, where she will major in Worship Leadership and minor in Global Missions. Natalie played varsity tennis during both middle school and high school and lettered all seven years, highlighted by being named Player of the Year for Aiken County during her sophomore (2021) and senior (2023) seasons. In addition to tennis, Natalie was very active in other school organizations as well, including serving as president of the National Honor Society, Student Coordinator for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and being a member of both Beta Club and Student Council. Outside of school, Natalie is a student leader for the praise and worship team and teaches a first-grade connect group at Millbrook Baptist Church and serves as an intern at the Life Choices Pregnancy Care Center.

Ryan “RJ” Marsh graduated from Augusta Preparatory Day School in 2023 and will be attending Georgia College & State University in the fall, where he will major in Accounting. RJ was a member of Augusta Prep’s Tennis Team during all four years of high school. During his senior year, RJ served as Captain of the tennis team and led them to a State Championship. In addition to playing, RJ also dedicated some of his free time during his senior year to teaching younger players as the Assistant Coach for Augusta Prep’s Middle School Tennis Team. In addition to tennis, RJ was active in other student organizations as member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, and Chess Club. RJ is an Eagle Scout and has earned the Ad Altare Dei (to the altar of God) Emblem and Pope Pius XII Emblem, two prestigious awards from the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.
